Today I’m talking about Lithium & Tang, the latest album by Craig Caudill A.K.A. FM R IZ a composer active on the electronic music scene since the early 2000s.
Lithium & Tang is a particular work where electronic music and dark hip hop mix to create extremely interesting texture. The roughness of the synthetic sounds accompanies the sounds of hip hop culture. I really appreciated in Coup of Delusion (first track) the percussive sounds spatialized between the altorplants, there is a lot of attention on the directionality of the sound. In Blincoln Logs (third track) we find again a study on sound spatialization but this time the protagonists are the medium-high frequencies that move following the bpm of the track.
